SB Dance began in 1996 and was incorporated as a nonprofit two years later. Since then, the company has created dozens of new creations and evenings length works, from pure dance to pure theater to musicals to almost everything in-between.
SB Dance also creates installations— large-scale and often interactive pieces, usually made for theater spaces. In other programming and productions, SB Dance contributes conceptual and creative services as well as nuts-and-bolts expertise in operations and management. Over the years, the company has partnered with many local and national organizations, developing cross-over programs that are bigger than the sum of their parts. The company has also crafted education programs for adults and kids.
The images page includes recent photos and some video is available online. Much much more is on hard drives, in storage, and buried in holes. Funny thing is that, after all these years, opening night is still a queasy experience. In the best way.
